Gerald chose to attend an HBCU (Historically Black College & University), where he had amazing mentors along the way that helped him realize his dreams.
Traveling Abroad (16:20)
Gerald traveled to Senegal as a college student, an experience he describes as “a period of exponential growth”. He also studied for 6 months in the Dominican Republic. In his travels, Gerald experienced both immense acceptance and racism.
Coming Back Home (49:10)
After traveling around the world and back, with a stay in New York and Baltimore, Gerald returned home to Dallas, Texas.
His Current Projects
Gerald filled the gap in the Dallas art scene after returning home by creating ‘Black Art in the Park’.
