Meeka is a solo traveler from The Bronx, by way of Antigua and Louisiana. Her goal is to travel to every country in Africa within the next 3 years. After missing the “do it by the time I’m 30” deadline, she decided 3 years was an obtainable goal. Hey! Haven’t we all missed a deadline? The important thing is to just keep swimming, or traveling!

Of the six African countries she’s visited, she only called one home, Dakar, Senegal. It was here that through her lived experiences, she perfected a list of do’s and don’ts while dating abroad.

In Episode 16, Meeka shares the best places to meet suitable suitors, the real deal with dating apps, and some funny stories/cautionary tales.

Meeka’s Tips for Using Dating Apps While Abroad

  1. Have safety measures in place.

  2. Let people know where you’re going.

  3. Don’t invite people into your house.

  4. Men also need to be careful. Robberies and set-ups happen.
